University of Texas
Whitis Court Residence Hall

Austin, Texas

The first new dorm at UT in over 20 years, this innovative project will feature a brand-new 214,000 square foot, 7-story structure designed to accommodate over 1,075 UT students in pod-style living communities. Conference rooms tailored for collaboration and studying, communal laundry facilities, and an inviting outdoor space further support a sense of community.

Precast construction for structure, exterior walls, and floors – all fabricated off-site – created design efficiencies in unit sizing and layout, delivered significant cost savings and also eliminated the need for scaffolding which allowed the team to save 25 heritage oaks on the site.

Delivered through a dynamic public/private partnership with Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, the University of Texas, and Clark Nexsen this modern, sustainable living and learning environment represents a significant step forward in enhancing the campus experience for students at UT Austin.
