Non-profit Headquarters, Phase II
Austin, Texas
Within a year of opening their doors, a large, national, non-profit had already outgrown their new office building. This 14,000 square foot addition holds a community room, offices, a boardroom, and two classrooms. Continuing the campus’ design themes of interlocking courtyards and interwoven spaces, special attention was paid to the circulation in and around the site with a focus on its current use and future expansions. Open-air walkways were provided on the ground floor of the addition to allow for a vibrant courtyard in the center of the buildings. Circulation within the building, a roof-top deck for the boardroom, and a heavy ground floor program helped shape the addition’s massing and connection to the campus.
