Lake Church

Horseshoe Bay, Texas

The design of Lake Church stemmed from a vision of a warm and welcoming sanctuary filled with natural light, looking out onto a lush greenscape populated by native foliage, where children can be seen playing in the background during services. Deep, protective eaves enclose the sanctuary, providing much-needed shade from the intense Texas summers. Due to its proximity to a major highway, the sanctuary and garden are sunken into a sloping hillside, shielding the sanctuary from the busy activity of the adjacent highway. The children’s wing wraps around the garden, ending in a tall stone tower that serves as a landmark, highlighting this future church as a community anchor along the future major corridor.
