Kinesiology Complex

The program for the Kinesiology Complex at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, added 15,000 square feet, incorporating a Dance Studio, a full-service fitness center, Racquetball Courts, a Running Track, Tennis Courts, and Classrooms. In addition, renovations were made to the existing Aquatic Center, which spans 22,000 square feet, and to the Gymnasium Building, which spans 24,000 square feet, both of which were separate structures.
The solution was to locate the new addition so that the circulation of all three structures would be combined, thus creating a single Athletic Facility rather than 3 separate structures. A new Entry courtyard was incorporated to make a new Front Entry to the redesigned complex. The budget for the facility was $4.4 million.
