Relocating an office isn’t just about changing addresses – it’s about reimagining how an office works. For this engineering firm, the move from a multi-storied, maze of outdated, enclosed offices into a single-floor Class A office building was an opportunity to reinvent how they work. More than just a physical shift, the relocation brought a previously dispersed team of in-office and remote workers together in a cohesive office environment, fostering a renewed sense of shared purpose.
The new design shifts from separation to connection, balancing focus, collaboration, and community. Private offices surround a core of centrally located open workstations, while a mix of small and large gathering spaces supports both teamwork and flexibility. At its heart, a large central break area brings the entire office together for weekly all office team lunches – reinforcing culture and connection.
The biggest challenge was to achieve this transformation while reusing as much of the firm’s existing furniture as possible. Through detailed documentation of existing furniture and thoughtful planning, the design team delivered a seamless transition into a brighter, more functional workplace that supports both current needs and future growth.
