DIRECTOR OF INTERIOR DESIGN

LEVY DYKEMA is seeking a Director of Interior Design in our Austin office. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, a proven leader and mentor, and has a track record of earning, developing, and maintaining client relationships. 

The Director of Interior Design (DOI) is a mission-critical role who will oversee every aspect of the Interiors Studio. We have a talented team in place and are looking for someone to provide direction and vision to their efforts. The DOI should be forward-thinking, focused on human-centric design, and willing to teach.

In this role, you will have a variety of responsibilities that can be broken into three categories – business development, design, and mentoring. These responsibilities include:

  • Building a book of business across a variety of project sectors and extend the existing book of business

  • Extending existing relationships and fostering connections between members of our team and the broker community

  • Setting fees, scope, and schedules for projects

  • Refining the design process to efficiently deliver award-winning designs that satisfy our clients’ needs

  • Demonstrating thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, and client interactions

  • Working with clients to develop project concepts, program, and project goals

  • Providing regular feedback to the studio and helping ensure that everyone on the team is growing and thriving

  • Leading project teams by providing creative input throughout all phases of projects

  • Resolving design and technical issues

    LEVY DYKEMA is looking for a DOI with the following:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or similar; licensure strongly preferred

  • 20+ years of relevant interior design experience with a strong design background in a variety of project types including corporate commercial, student housing, multifamily, restaurant, and residential

  • Ability to develop lasting relationships with their team, their clients, and their stakeholders

  • Outstanding presentation skills and proven ability to convey their vision to the team and client

  • Proficiency in Revit and/or Sketchup, Lumion and/or Enscape, Bluebeam, and Adobe CS are all big pluses

  • A love of teaching!
